Beijing Visit!

Roslyn and I had a great weekend over Thanksgiving visiting Beijing and many of its famous tourist attractions
  1. From the glorious imperial architecture of the Forbidden City to the proposed space-age design of the new National Theater building, China’s capital is a city of visual contrast in architectural design.
  2. We visited the largest public square in the world, Tiananmen, the Forbidden (or Imperial) city. In the early afternoon, our guide escorted us to the fabled Summer Palace, resort home of the Dowager Empress, Ci Xi. That evening, we attended an amazing Chinese acrobatic performance.
  3. On Saturday we visited the ancient wonder, the 2000-year old Great Wall of China, one of the most spectacular structures ever built by man.We stopped at the Olympic Park to take the pictures of the “Bird Nest” and “Water Cube”.
  4. Saturday evening we tasted the famous Beijing Roast Duck at dinner.
