Halong, Vietnam!

Halong Vietnam is 180 kilometers to the North-East of Hanoi, one of the World's Natural Heritage sites. It is a 3.5 hour drive from Hanoi. Roslyn and I took a boat trip on the bay (5 hours) to visit typical islands and caves that had spectacular, colorful lighting. We had lunch on the boat enjoyed the landscape of the immense bay with 5,000 islets.  In the evening, we attended a water puppet show for some light entertainment.

This is one of the determined vendors. They bring their sampans along side the boat, hook onto the side and start selling their wares.

Machu Pichu all over again.

Thank goodness for air holes.

Can you tell John is completely enamored with this gaily lit caverns?

This is KISSING ROCKS, the signature rock formation of Halong, Viet Nam.

We were told we would see the famous water puppet show. We had no idea what to expect. This is a favorite show among the locals....not sure why.

The puppet masters came out for a final bow.
